Massive fire breaks out on the 12th floor of Ivy Country society in Noida Sector 75. Residents evacuate as firefighters battle the flames.
Noida: A massive fire broke out on the 12th floor of a high-rise residential building in the Ivy Country society, located in Sector 75, Noida, around 7:20 am on Friday. As soon as the fire started in the 28-storey building, flames rapidly engulfed the entire flat, and high plumes of fire began shooting out of the windows. Thick black smoke covered the sky, triggering panic throughout the area.
Local residents expressed sharp anger over the fire brigade team's failure to extinguish the fire on the 12th floor of the Ivy Country society in Noida Sector 75. When the water sprays from the fire brigade's pipes failed to reach the 12th floor, people angrily remarked, “What kind of fire brigade is this? Holi fountains are better. The water isn't even reaching above the 6th or 7th floor. They are just spraying water on the lower houses. Our infrastructure is completely useless.”
The fire broke out due to a short circuit in an air cooler inside a flat in Tower A of the society. The fire started on the balcony and rapidly spread throughout the flat. Due to the fire's intensity, all the belongings in the flat were reduced to ashes.
Residents living in the society shared that they rushed down the stairs after suddenly spotting smoke and flames in the morning. Several people filmed videos and shared them on social media, in which the flames and smoke are clearly visible.
Fire department and police teams remain continuously on the spot. Efforts to fully control the fire and prevent it from spreading further have been intensified. The situation is being monitored.
